SVA explained

SVA (Single Vehicle Approval) is a pre-registration scheme. The main purpose is to ensure cars and light goods vehicles that were constructed for non-European Economic Area markets to comply with British law.

Before the vehicle can be used on public roads they will be inspected to see if they have been designed and constructed to modern safety and environmental standards.

Even vehicles outwardly similar to European-specification models, but intended for other markets, can often be unsuitable for use in Britain without at least some modification.

Your vehicle will be subject to the SVA scheme if it is one of the following:

Commercial Import
Personal Import
